During processing
on synthetic material particularly when they are dry and
speed is High then at that operating speeds the voltage
of the charges become so high, that the product process
is appreciably disturbed hence full output is prevented,
often sparking becomes troublesome and dangerous to the
machine operator.

Solution
/ Remedy : On modern high speed machines,
whenever synthetic material like plastic (Plastic Web, Tubing
and Laminates) is processed, static charges are invariably
generated as a result of which various difficulties like
sparking, sticking, wrapping loose winding, attracting air
borne dust particles and even shock to the operator may
occur.
This reduces the efficiencies and deteriotes the quality
of the products. There are many methods to remove the static
electricity.
Among them neutralization of static charges has been the
most effective. Accumulated static charges are neutralized
by stream of conductive gases along with saturation of both
positive and negative ions produced by sharp pin point of
discharge electrodes.
Earthing to machine to some extent may remove static charges
but cleaning brush to remove dust is not the permanent solution.
Hence, Neutralization is only remedy to remove the charges
completely during process. |
