QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN

Over the past thirty eight years EXCELLA ELECTRONICS has designed, developed, fabricated, inspected and supplied a large variety of instruments, tachogenerators, sensors and microprocessor based control system for industrial and scientific applications including power plants, steel plants, cement plants, Defence & building automation. In the course of normal operation a reasonable level of knowledge has been gained about the component quality, circuit/software reliability. Besides, this knowledge, experience has also been gained about sources of quality components

Apart from the knowledge so gained, specialised training is also imparted to our personnel in various fields to augment and update the knowledge base. The training is aimed at improving and understanding of the latest design techniques, quality standards and in enhancing the personnel community quality.

PROCEDURE:
DESIGN:

The design of the products is generally based on previous knowledge and experience.

In the course of the execution of a job a detail study of the customers application is made to decide the components which yield required quality. The system is designed by adopting proven and established techniques.

COMPONENT PROCUREMENT & INSPECTION
PROCUREMENT PHILOSOPHY:

As a policy commercial grade components and circuit elements from LCSO or BIS or CDOT approved manufacturers are chosen. Whenever specifically demanded by the customer, only those components which company JSS are used. In either case the product of reputed and established component manufacturer is only chosen. A further certificate of compliance to the applicable specification is demanded directly from the manufacturer. However, for custom designed products of low volume consumption, it may not be always possible to procure components directly from sources with certificates.

COMPONENT INSPECTION:
In case where direct procurement is not possible, the purchase of such components is made through reliable retail outlets and as a rule, essential parametric tests are carried out at the incoming stage.

In case of components for which approvals do not exist, manufacturer with which the company has gained satisfactory experience are selected and then the components are procured. In such cases essential parametric and any special test considered necessary in application are carried out at the incoming stage.

COMPONENT INSPECTION RECORDS:
Records of the incoming inspection are so devised to get
1. Feed from company design engineer
2. Performance data a particular component

As such only administrative data is recorded and only under special conditions, as stated earlier, technical data is also recorded.

FABRICATION:
Fabrication process is done only with reference to approved drawings:

STAGE INSPECTION:
Stage inspection during fabrication is based on approved drawings/documents

All the sub assemblies and assemblies are inspected with respect to overall dimensions, cutout, monitoring needs, assembly procedure, application bill of material and good workmanship

STAGE INSPECTION RECORDS:
Stage inspection records are generated and maintained at periodic intervals. The details recorded cover reference documents used for inspection and observed deviations. If no deviation is observed a statement to the effect is made on the records.

FINAL INSPECTION:
The instrument or the system and where applicable a sub-system, is inspected with reference to detailed test procedure prepared to establish conformity of the instrument / system to specified / agreed specifications.

The procedure is submitted to the customer, whenever it requires his review and approval. Any comment received is studied and suitable revision is made to the procedure. Inspection is then carried out in accordance with the approved procedure.
